    How to manually create or check automatic device diagram link in Vista for MDI type of device

    User selects a grouping node where action is to Open Diagram from Meter Template but receives a message that diagram cannot be found

    Power Monitoring Expert (PME) 7.2.x, 8.x

    Communication to the device has been verified to work, device in question is a Modbus Device Importer style device

    Vista cannot find the registry key to determine what diagram to open.

    *Warning: This article contains information about editing the registry. Improper changes to the registry can permanently damage the operating system. Always backup the registry before making any changes.*

    1) Create a folder for the desired diagram in ...\config\diagrams\default\

    2) Name the first diagram to be displayed as .dgm

    3) Add the following content to the registry
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Schneider Electric\ION Enterprise\7.0.1\DeviceInfo\\DefaultFirmware]
    a) Copy this text to a new text file and save as .reg
    b) Update the Device Type Name and Folder Name seen in <> to match your system.
    c) Replace "7.0.1" with the version of software required. A list of different versions is included below
    d) Execute the file to add the contents to the registry.

    \7.0.1\ - SPM 7.0 SP1
    \7.2\ - PME 7.2
    \7.2.1\ PME 7.2 SP1
    \7.2.2\ PME 7.2 SP2
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Schneider Electric\Schneider Electric\Power Monitoring expert\8.0\DeviceInfo\ PME 8.0

    Note : The folder name and diagram name must match for this to work. Device Type Name must match the device type as seen in Management Console.
