Assign an IP Address to a Quantum NOE in Proworx 32

    Goals and Symptoms:

The purpose of this resolution is to illustrate the steps necessary to assign an IP address to a Quantum Ethernet module in Proworx 32 software.

    Causes and Fixes:

Perform the following steps to assign an IP address to a Quantum Ethernet module in Proworx 32
Under the intended project name in the Projects menu on the left side of the screen, choose Configuration
    .
In the Configuration Screen set a value for Configuration Extension Size
    .
Once a Config Extension Size has been entered, choose Configuration Extensions from the Projects window

    .
This will bring up the Configuration Extensions window where TCP/IP is chosen
    .
In this window, all of the network parameters for the Ethernet module are set.
The card number refers to the first, second, etc. network card configured.
The head number is the slot number of the Ethernet module in the backplane.
The IP Address, and Subnet Mask fields and the Gateway address if a gateway is being used.
If there is no gateway in use, the Gateway address can be left as 0.0.0.0.
The framing type can be chosen in the menu shown below:
    .
The last field allows the user to choose to have a BOOTP or DHCP server assign the IP Address instead of having this information assigned by the Configuration Extension
    .

Choosing BootP Server will grey out the other options in this window and will allow your Ethernet module to be assigned an IP Address by a BootP/DHCP server

NOTE: Depending on the model and state of the NOE module you may have to power cycle the NOE module so it will take the new configuration
