Which EM4800 Current Transformers (CT's) require shorting blocks?

    Issue
Need to know which EM4800 CTs need shorting blocks.

    Product Line
    E(M)4800

    Environment
Installation of the shorting block with EM4800 CT's.

    Resolution
When using 80 mA CTs or 5 A CT's, shorting blocks are recommended. 333 mV CT's do not require shorting blocks because they have a burden resistor built into the CT that limits the output voltage to 333 mV under all conditions.

NOTE: If a 1/3 V CT was shorted, the internal burden resistor and the CT would be shorted at the same time. This would effectively be the same as shorting a current secondary CT and would cause no harm, despite the fact that it is not needed.
