    When upgrading StruxureWare Central, the system also upgrades it's Device Definition Files or DDFs. These DDFs tell the Central what data points to poll from the different devices as well as what device type to pull each sensor from and how to format the return value..This was first seen on sensors on the Symmetra UPS but has subsequently been seen on others.

    In some instances, incorrect sensors were pulled from the Symmetra UPS on earlier versions of the DDF. When resolving this issue with the newer DDF, the sensor was no longer polled. Since we never want to delete a sensor when upgrading a DDF in case the new DDF had issues, the older sensor remains listed and can still be seen in the interface. It simply reports an unplugged state in Central rather than be deleted. This change in state can be seen when viewing device sensors, when running reports and graphs, and can also be seen when monitoring Central and it's devices using Modbus over IP. In the case of Modbus output, the sensor that is reporting unplugged in the device sensors view will report a zero from the Modbus register.
