Leading the Energy Efficiency race
It’s not every day that Jean-Pascal Tricoire, CEO of Schneider Electric visits Australia. Yet the energetic 46 year old was in Sydney and Adelaide between March 11-16 to speak at some key functions.
Now into his 23rd year with Schneider Electric, and leading 100 000 employees in over 100 countries, Jean-Pascal is a man on a mission, using every opportunity to tell us that there have never been greater opportunities for Schneider Electric and its customers to capitalise on energy efficiency solutions than right now.
"The world of electricity is changing," he said in Adelaide while attending the Clipsal 500.
"People are taking care of their energy consumption. There’s a whole new way of living. It’s as big as the internet, he said. With energy, it’s going to be the same kind of change."
At the Gepps Cross site in Adelaide, Jean-Pascal told 250 building consultants who had come from all over Australia to attend, that the energy dilemma facing everyone, meant that it was inevitable that we have to find solutions that can ”cut the bill.”
Speaking at an Energy Lunch in Sydney he said, "Everywhere I go, customers are asking for reliability, connectivity, efficiency and now renewable energy. Whether I am in Brazil, Abu Dhabi or the US, a totally coordinated solution is what clients are demanding."
Jean-Pascal spoke about Australia’s dependence on coal resources and that "hard decisions would have to be made" and these issues were already impacting on government and business in order to meet 2020/50 reduced emission targets. He closed with the following advice for his Adelaide audience:
"If you don’t do it for the environment or even future generations, then do it for your wallet."
Attending the business session in Adelaide was Adam Gowlett, State Manager from Satterley Property Group in Queensland who was very impressed by Jean-Pascal.
"It was a credit to Jean-Pascal, as busy as he is, to have taken the time to address us. He was an inspirational speaker."
