Hilton Adelaide is regarded as South Australia’s leading hotel. The recent installation of the hi-tech Clipsal C-Bus system further enhances the reputation of this hotel.
After a successful trial period of C-Bus in the stunning Victoria Room, the home automation system has been installed throughout Level One of the Adelaide’s Hilton Hotel in May 2004. Patrons now have the chance to experience the true benefits of Clipsal C-Bus in the grand ballroom, meeting and conference rooms.
In these rooms, C-Bus perfectly meets the needs of the hotel and its users: for each different event requirements, specific lighting scenes have been programmed.
“Via the touch screens, which are located at the entrance of each of the rooms, the entire lighting capabilities can be controlled” said Bill Ryan from MIE, manager for the Hilton project. “Lighting scenes can be set for almost every function from an expo or conference through to a wedding or birthday celebration, from a soft and romantic mood to a bright and vibrant mood”
“The ongoing energy savings offered by C-Bus, make the system even more attractive” highlighted Bill. “For example, cleaning modes have been programmed, allowing for significant energy savings to be made, due to lights only being programmed at 50 or 100 percent.”

Another great advantage with C-Bus is the total control outside the rooms that makes the service at the Hilton top of its class. From the Business Lounge, located in the heart of Level One, a number of different tasks can be implemented without disrupting the proceedings.
By pressing a button on a computer in the Business Lounge, lighting scene changes can be made when required. Regarding the coffee and message system status, the manager now sends a message to a light located about the entrance/exit doors to let people know if a message awaits or if lunch has been served.
In the rooms, infrared remote controls provide further flexibility for clients. Lights can be dimmed during a slideshow presentation without causing interruption to the conference.
This project has been recognised on a national scale after recently taking out an award in the National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA) annual awards.
