Clipsal Australia built its first satellite factory in 1982 at Nuriootpa, in the heart of South Australia's world-renowned Barossa Valley wine making region. The factory, which is Quality Accredited to ISO 9002, is Australia's largest manufacturer of non-metallic conduit fittings, rewirable plug tops, WHT weather protected switches and domestic weather protected switches and switched socket outlets. In 1994 the plant underwent a multi-million dollar expansion which has enabled the Nuriootpa Division to satisfactorily meet the rapidly increasing demand for their products, not only in Australia, but overseas, where the popularity of Clipsal Electrical Accessories has grown enormously in recent years.
Continuous review and upgrading of equipment and processes have ensured that Nuriootpa Division’s 155 employees continue to produce a high quality product to globally competitive productivity levels.
