Get this fire safety video - Firetek DVD
Clipsal Australia in conjunction with the SA Metropolitan Fire Service, has put together a Fire Safety video to reveal an insider’s view of how fire consumes a home and its contents and why it is imperative for householders to have smoke alarms installed.
The 20 minute video includes information on how to choose a smoke alarm, fire safety hints, behind the scenes images of a house fire and much more.
The video will be used for community education programs and to help prevent the 1500 injuries, 70 deaths and millions of dollars in property damage caused by the 10 000 residential fires that occur in Australia each year.* Clipsal will also use the video to feature its new range of FiretekTM Ionisation and Photoelectric Smoke Alarms including the new flush mount Firetek models.
The video required footage of a burning house. After consultation with the Metropolitan Fire Service, no recent or suitable footage was available, forcing Clipsal to make the decision to find a house that could be set alight.
Enquiries were made with Urban Pacific Ltd and following a doorknock to all neighbours in the street, a 30 year old solid brick maisonette marked for demolition at 9 Norton Street, Angle Park was put to the match. Local film crew, Kojo Productions took on the project and used three cameras to capture interior footage of the blaze. Two MFS fire appliances, Fire Safety Officers and a Fire Cause Investigator initiated, managed and extinguished the house fire.
The video is essential viewing for all those concerned about safeguarding their homes from the dangers of fire.
